SEE Change Magazine recently partnered with Emerging Leaders Network(ELN) to organize the panel discussion: Bridging the Gap Through Social Enterprise. The event took place at CSI Spadina in downtown Toronto on October 19th and was a great success!
The panel, from L to R: Richard Derham, Courtney Fitton, Laura Reinsborough and moderator, Elisa Birnbaum
Moderated by SEE Change’s Elisa Birnbaum, the panel – made up of three socially minded entrepreneurs – discussed the growing level of poverty in the Toronto region and how they’re addressing the challenges of income polarization head-on. The incredible group of engaged participants then continued the conversation, passionately chatting about tackling the issue of poverty and how best to support social entrepreneurial initiatives who are attempting to do just that.
Sharing their perspectives and experiences were:
- Richard Derham, Founder and General Manager, TurnAround Couriers
- Courtney Fitton, Program Coordinator, SEDI – Social and Enterprise Development Innovations
- Laura Reinsborough, Founder and Coordinator, Not Far From The Tree
Thanks to everyone who came out – we look forward to more conversations in the future!
